Addax (White Antelope)
The Addax, also known as the White or Screwhorned Antelope was once found across all Saharan terrain, with less than 100 individuals now roaming, they are likely to be found today in Niger. The threats to the Addax have been various and include disturbance from oil exploration, drought and livestock farming. But the biggest issue for the Addax has been hunting for its meat and hide. It is hoped that with the protection of land that the Addax now calls home, the fortune for these beautiful antelope can be changed.
