Hector's Dolphin
The Hector's Dolphin is the smallest as well as the rarest of all the marine dolphins. The main threat to the species is being caught and tangled in gillnets which can seriously injure or kill them. As well as fishing nets, polluted habitat, coastal developments and boats are other reasons for their decline in population. Despite all of this the dolphin has a huge personality, often being spotted playing with seaweed, blowing bubbles and playing games.
