Walking down the path from Hambleton, we wondered why everyone else was going down the road when we had always used the footpath previously for the beautiful view as it opened out at the end to show the fields, trees and then Rutland Water right across the lake. We soon realised that the path was becoming muddier and muddier and that the only way was to continue down the hill. However, having made this decision, we had the best view as the path twisted around the corner as the different fences on either side framed our view. The trees led us down and the muted colours of the grass, bare trees, fencing and mud provided a beautiful contrast to the expanse of water, tempting us on to the end of the path.
