Spring Chicken
Driftwood, mixed media assemblage.
A long time ago, maybe 50 years, I chanced upon a 1957 edition of 'The Passport' by Saul Steinberg, and was immediately transported to the land of line. Steinberg conveyed so much, so simply. Untangling the scribble of springs on my work table, lo and behold, a chicken appeared! All I had to do was perch it on a stable base, allowing it to peck at the odd crumb. Thank you Mr Steinberg.
