Buy any 3 or more Goldmark Atelier John Nash wood engravings and receive a free copy of John Nash Artist & Countryman

This is the same view as Paul Nash's Landscape from the inn, 1919. The inn being the Red Lion Inn at Whiteleaf in Buckinghamshire where John and Paul Nash stayed at the end of the war.The brothers were working closely together during this period and this engraving and the following one ; Whiteleaf Cross are closely linked with Paul's work. (From Greenwood).

These exquisite John Nash prints have been printed from the original wood blocks in our very own Goldmark Atelier.

For a span of two decades, Nash was probably the most competent wood engraver working in this country. As an independent printmaker and illustrator he was responsible for dozens of celebrated publications.

The Goldmark Gallery has acquired directly from the artist’s estate over 70 of the 90 or so blocks Nash made in his lifetime, with permission to print new editions from them. Many of these blocks were commissioned solely for book illustration and have never been individually editioned; some have never been published at all.

The wood blocks have been treated with consummate skill and professionalism by master printer Jan Wilkinson of the Goldmark Atelier. Her standards have been exacting: some of the very faintest of Nash’s cuts have never been printed so crisply before – including those printed by Nash himself.

All prints editioned by Goldmark bear the Goldmark Atelier blind stamp (bottom left) and a stamped John Nash signature.
