Jackowski was born in 1947 in Penley, North Wales. His parents were Polish refugees who survived the Second World War. He spent the first eleven years of his life in a refugee camp on the English/ Welsh border.
He later studied at:
Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts
Falmouth School of Art
Royal College of Art
Won the John Minton Scholarship.
Winner of the John Moores prize 1991-2 with his picture “The Beekeeper’s Son”.
Numerous exhibitions including Marlborough Fine Art .
