'Crawling Woman (c1944) is one of the more overtly erotic subjects which survived the cataclysm, as a unique terracotta. Now she is cast in bronze with a seductive silvery pewter patina and gold highlights. Notice her wasp waist and enhanced haunches and calves.'
'His primary inspiration remained the female figure. Whether worked in stone, plaster, terracotta or bronze, his figures have an architectural quality, but are also of the earth. Their apparent simplicity masks a formal complexity, but a complexity that has a beguiling naturalness to it.
