Harvey Daniels has been exhibiting his paintings and prints since the early 1960s. Born in London, Daniels attended the Slade School of Fine Art. His work has been described by art historian Norbert Lynton as a “visual carnival" and is often related to music, especially jazz. Daniels himself has commented 'Music is most important to my work - not just in the listening but in an attempt to make work that is musical in itself. The brightness of a viridian against a black or the structure using a circle or a row of dots is just as much a part of the musicality as is the vibrancy of the overall colour.
